Automatically adding a credit card surcharge to an invoice is a feature exclusive to tenants using Gravity Payment processing.
Enabling Credit Card Surcharge
Notify Gravity Payments of intent to enable surcharge. They will unlock merchant feature.
From left nav menu, select Settings and choose Settings tab.
Click Yes to enable feature. Clients paying with a credit card will now be charged an additional 3% of the invoice total. Invoices paid with debit card, check, cash or other methods besides credit card do not apply surcharge.
Users will be notified of surcharge when entering billing info, including when enrolling in Autopay. However, operator must notify existing Autopay users prior to enabling Surcharge for compliance with notification requirements before Autopay charges client.
Disabling Surcharge
To disable, simply go back to Settings and select No. The change will take effect immediately for future invoices.
